Just stumbled across this site today after trying to find ways to help me cope with dating a Doctor. That was enough for him. I never really thought about the sacrifices the wife of a doctor must make. It is much easier for the Holy Ghost to influence good people. I hate to be so undiplomatic, but it will always create friction in your life to have this level of religious difference. Mormon theology is pretty clear: But Mormon theology is also rich with opportunities for second chances. I had a lot of things going on in my personal life as well, so maybe a relationship wouldn't have worked regardless. I have felt alone many a days when raising our 2 children while he was at work or out of town for conferences. And a YW leader feels soory for my daughter who is growing up in a home without the priesthood.

Usually, when Mormon girls marry non-Mormon men, these women forsake their religion and revert to ordinary American woman. So yea, I blame residency for his general 'unavailability', and I would assume that is the case with your guy too. I've realized that we are both pretty social people and he thrives on all the action at the hospital. It really can be that simple. Marriage to the wrong person is extremely difficult. It's typical to not hear from him for weeks. She's told me the church is one of the most important things to her, but from what I've researched already there's no way I would subject my future children to this culture.
